Based in San Francisco, Jason Chan is a Senior Concept Artist at Riot Games and a freelance illustrator. He specialises in illustration for marketing, key art illustration, and character design.
Chan graduated with a BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has worked on many video games including League of Legends, Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age: Origins. He frequently illustrates for sci-fi/fantasy book covers and is a prominent Magic: The Gathering illustrator. On top of all of that Chan has taught private classes on concept design and lectured at numerous international conferences.
As part of the ever-expanding world of League of Legends, Chan has beautifully illustrated two accompanying stories. The first, A Hero’s Calling, was written by John O’Bryan and Art Daniel Norton. The second was an introduction to the new character Ekko. Chan worked on the final art, layouts were done by Dan Norton, special effects support by Mitch Malloy, and background assistance from Section Studios.
